Terms of service

By creating an account, visiting our site, or using any part of Indie Terminal (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Service and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

Indie Terminal is built for founders running real companies. Use it honestly, do not abuse the index or API, and treat cited outputs as inputs to your judgment — not as legal or investment advice.Indie Terminal — acceptable use principle

Indie Terminal is a Founder OS: a command center for cited research pipelines, company brain persistence, workspace deliverables, integrations, and governed exports. Features vary by plan. We may add, change, or retire features as the product evolves; we will not intentionally remove core paid functionality from your current plan mid-cycle without notice.

The Service is offered on an “as available” basis. We aim for high uptime but do not guarantee uninterrupted access, especially during maintenance, third-party outages, or force majeure events.

You are responsible for activity under your account. Keep credentials secure. Notify us promptly at hi@indieterminal.com if you suspect unauthorized access.

You must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority in your jurisdiction) to create a paid account. One person per seat unless your plan explicitly includes team seats.

Paid plans are billed monthly or annually through DodoPayments. Prices are shown on our pricing page before checkout. Taxes may apply based on your location.

• Free trial — eligible plans include a 7-day trial without a card. On Day 6 we remind you; add payment to continue or you revert to Starter automatically.
• Renewal — subscriptions renew until you cancel. Manage billing, invoices, and payment methods from your account page or the Dodo customer portal.
• Cancellation — cancel anytime. End-of-period cancellation keeps access until the current billing cycle ends. Immediate cancellation ends paid access promptly.
• Refunds — trial users who cancel before charge are never billed. Paid users may request a first-month refund within 7 days if fewer than five pipeline runs were consumed. Annual plans may receive prorated refunds within 30 days at our discretion.

Downgrading does not delete your workspace. Brain records and saved deliverables stay with your account unless you delete them or close the account.Data on plan change

You agree not to:

• Scrape, bulk-export, or reverse-engineer the startup index beyond documented API limits
• Share account credentials or resell access without a Team or API plan
• Probe, overload, or circumvent rate limits, paywalls, or approval gates
• Upload unlawful content or use the Service to harass, spam, or infringe others’ rights
• Misrepresent AI-generated outputs as human-verified facts without review

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules or pose risk to the platform or other users.

Index data, comps, and pipeline outputs are provided for informational purposes. Sources are cited where possible, but we do not warrant completeness, accuracy, or timeliness. Startup markets move fast; verify material decisions independently.

Indie Terminal is not a registered investment adviser, broker-dealer, or law firm. Nothing in the Service constitutes financial, legal, tax, or investment advice.Disclaimer

You retain rights to content you submit. You grant us a limited license to host, process, and display that content solely to operate the Service. We retain rights to the Indie Terminal brand, UI, index compilation methods, and underlying software.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Indie Terminal and its operators will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including lost profits, lost data, or business interruption — arising from your use of the Service.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of (a) amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or (b) one hundred U.S. dollars ($100).

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach, non-payment, or prolonged inactivity on free accounts. Sections that by nature should survive (billing obligations, disclaimers, liability limits) survive termination.

Indie Terminal is operated from India. These terms are governed by the laws of India, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute arising from these terms or your use of the Service shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in India.

If you access the Service from another country, you are responsible for compliance with local laws where they apply. Nothing in these terms limits mandatory consumer or data protection rights you may have under the law of your residence.

We may update these terms by posting a new version on this page. Material changes will be communicated where practical.
