Overview
Who this applies to
This policy covers anyone who visits indieterminal.com, creates an account, runs pipelines in the command center, or pays for a subscription. If you use Indie Terminal on behalf of a company, you represent that you have authority to bind that company to this policy.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not run a data brokerage on the side. Your startup research stays yours.Indie Terminal — privacy commitment
Collection
What we collect
We collect only what the product needs to work. That generally falls into four buckets:
- Account identity — email, name, and profile image from Clerk when you sign up or sign in. We use this to authenticate you and associate your workspace with the right person.
- Product usage — which tools and slash-command pipelines you run, credit consumption, approval actions, and coarse interaction events (e.g. page views via Vercel Analytics). This helps us enforce plan limits, debug failures, and decide what to build next.
- Workspace & company brain — deliverables, brain records, cited research outputs, integration metadata, and lineage you choose to save. This is the core value of the product; we store it so you do not re-explain your startup every morning.
- Billing — subscription status, plan tier, and payment identifiers from DodoPayments. We do not store full card numbers on our servers; card data is handled by our payment processor and, where applicable, their customer portal.
If you connect third-party integrations (Slack, Notion, Zapier, etc.), we store the tokens and configuration required to export on your approval. We do not read your unrelated messages or pages beyond what you explicitly route through a pipeline.
Use
How we use your information
We use collected data to:
- Provide, secure, and improve Indie Terminal (auth, pipelines, workspace, billing).
- Send transactional email — receipts, trial reminders, support replies, security notices.
- Measure reliability and product fit through privacy-preserving analytics.
- Respond to abuse, fraud, or violations of our Terms of Service.
We do not use your private workspace content to train general-purpose models for unrelated products. Pipelines may call AI providers to generate outputs for you; those calls are scoped to your request, not pooled into a public training set by us.AI & workspace data
Sharing
Third-party processors
We rely on established infrastructure providers. Each processes data on our behalf under their own terms and security programs:
- Clerk — authentication and session management
- Supabase — application database and stored workspace records
- Vercel — hosting, edge delivery, and performance analytics
- DodoPayments — subscription checkout, invoicing, and customer billing portal
- Resend — transactional and support email delivery
Market index and comp data may incorporate public signals and licensed sources (including TrustMRR and similar directories). That data describes third-party startups, not you personally, unless you voluntarily list your own product in a public directory we index.
Cookies
Cookies & local storage
We use essential cookies and local storage to keep you signed in, remember lightweight preferences, and attribute anonymous analytics sessions. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
You can clear cookies in your browser at any time; doing so will sign you out of Indie Terminal.
Retention
How long we keep data
Active accounts retain workspace and brain history for as long as you maintain an account. If you downgrade or cancel, saved deliverables and brain records remain available on Starter unless you delete them or close your account.
You may request account deletion by emailing hi@indieterminal.com from your registered address or via the support form on your account page. We will delete or anonymize personal identifiers within a reasonable period, subject to legal and billing record obligations.
Rights
Your choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access a copy of personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate account information
- Export workspace deliverables you created
- Object to certain processing or request deletion
Email hi@indieterminal.com with the subject line “Privacy request” and we will respond within 30 days.
Updates
Changes to this policy
We will post material changes on this page and update the effective date above. Continued use after changes means you accept the revised policy. For significant changes, we will make a reasonable effort to notify account holders by email.
